Seit meiner Jugendzeit beschäftige ich mich mit der Fotografie, in den 70er Jahren natürlich zuerst analog; 2009 bin ich dann auf die digitale Fotografie umgestiegen. Standen am Anfang Menschen und die Reisefotografie im Vordergrund, bin ich im Laufe der Zeit immer mehr zur Naturfotografie gewechselt. Das Draußen-Sein in der Natur sorgt nicht nur für schöne Motive, sondern ist auch Entspannung pur im stressigen Berufsalltag.
In der heimischen Fränkischen Schweiz im Norden Bayerns finde ich vielzählige Motive aus der Tier- und Pflanzenwelt. Besonders interessieren mich Orchideen, Schmetterlinge und Vögel. Weitere Schwerpunkte kann man den Bildern in der Galerie entnehmen.
Naturfotografie ist für mich nur in Verbindung mit Naturschutz zu sehen. Nur wenn wir uns für eine intakte Natur engagieren, werden wir unseren Kindern vernünftige Lebensbedingungen hinterlassen und uns die Freude an den Naturschönheiten erhalten können.
Bei meiner ersten Reise nach Island im Winter 2016 habe ich mich so in diese wunderschöne Insel verliebt, dass bis dato noch 5 weitere Reisen zu allen Jahreszeiten gefolgt sind. Die Schönheit der Vulkaninsel ist sagenhaft und bietet unendliche Motivwelten.
Ich fotografiere mit DSLR von Canon und Objektiven von Canon, Sigma und Zeiss. Ein Stativ ist immer dabei. Mit der Drohnenfotografie (und aus dem Flugzeug) kann man buchstäblich neue Ansichten gewinnen, seit 2017 ist diese Spielart ein fester Bestandteil meiner fotografischen Arbeit.

Since my youth I have been engaged in photography, in the 70s of course first analog; in 2009 I switched to digital photography. In the beginning I focused on people and travel photography, but in the course of time I changed more and more to nature photography. Being outdoors in nature not only provides beautiful motifs, but is also pure relaxation in stressful professional life.
In the native Franconian Switzerland in the north of Bavaria I find numerous motives from the animal and plant world. I am particularly interested in orchids, butterflies and birds. Further focal points can be seen in the pictures in the gallery.
Nature photography for me is to be seen only in connection with nature protection. Only if we commit ourselves for an intact nature, we will leave reasonable living conditions to our children and be able to preserve the joy in the natural beauties.
On my first trip to Iceland in winter 2016 I fell in love with this beautiful island so much that so far 5 more trips have followed in all seasons. The beauty of the volcanic island is legendary and offers endless motive worlds.
I photograph with DSLR from Canon and lenses from Canon, Sigma and Zeiss. A tripod is always with me. With the drone photography (and from the airplane) one can literally gain new views, since 2017 this variation is an integral part of my photographic work.
